Bible Studies

Knuckleheads

First Presbyterian Church is fortunate to have numerous opportunities for each member to find a group with the church where they can pray and study.

One of these groups is a men’s bible study which meets weekly on Tuesday from 12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. in Rooms 103-104 in the church.

This self-named group is called the Knuckleheads.  It consists of about 10 men with a real interest in each others opinions.  For the most part, they try to let scripture speak to current concerns for our church, our country, friends and family and their own personal concerns and situations.

Although the demographic for this group is skewed to a retired or mature age, they welcome any man where this kind of give and take has appeal.

In addition to the study of scripture, they always include a participatory communal prayer.

If you come to visit, they will tell why they chose the name Knuckleheads.

Ladies Evening Bible Study

Ladies Evening Bible Study has been meeting monthly for more than ten years. Our goal is Christian fellowship and Bible study.

We meet on the second Monday of each month in the Memorial Parlor of our Fellowship Hall. We begin gathering at 6:30 p.m. for fellowship and signing of cards which are sent to both members of our church and the community. This time is also used for our sharing joys, celebrations and prayer concerns with one another. At 6:50 p.m. we begin preparation for our Bible study. The ladies decide on a study for the year and are given the opportunity to purchase the study guide. We conclude by 8:00 p.m. with our Friendship Circle Prayer. We have had as many as 20 in attendance.

An invitation is extended to all ladies, no matter where you are in your faith journey. You are always welcome!
